Gidday all,

when wiring up an Arrid Twincharge is it really necessary to wire in the relay for a compressor fridge? I would have thought that my Engel, drawing say 2.5 amps at most, would not make a huge difference to the charging times whilst travelling (seems, to me anyway, that it is a lot of rigmarole for minimal gain). I'll also be using a Redarc Smart Start for the isolation between main and auxillary.

Any and all expert advice appreciated.

Arid suggest that you wire the pick up for the fridge befor the twin charge unit.
This is for three way fridges that use up to 15amps per hr which would make it hard for the twin charge to charge your batt at a max of 20amps and would probably burn the unit out after a period of time.
However the engal drawing only 2.5amps intermitantly would hardly affect the charging of the second battery.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

Bugger the relay...I'll go without it (KISS). Thanx.
