Hi All,
I have a 03 GU Patrol with the 3.0 TD engine. Had a DTronic unit fitted in 04 whilst doing a trip over the top.
Coming back from
Cairns in January over the
Plenty Highway, would be travelling along when the car would suddenly loose all power.
Back off on the accelaterator, and everything Ok again.
Ended up pulling the plug on the unit at Alice and reverting back to the original computer, and no problems since.
Has anyone got any experience with the manufacturer carrying out repairs to these units ?

Hi Michael,
Can't help on the repairs but maybe I can offer a different angle to look at the problem.
Does the DTronic require grounding or earthing?
Does it have any connections that may be loose or dirty? Including grounds or earthing.
Is it located somewhere that may have got excessively hot?
Have you tried reconnecting it now you're
home?
Otherwise maybe just give Safari a ring.
Geoff.

Did you think of contacting the manufacturer, Safari to see if there is any warranty on the unit?
As they manufacture them one would assume they can repair or replace the unit. An alternative would be to see ARB who are the authorised supplier and fitters of the units. Seems a no brainer to me...
