Could anyone advise me of an alternative power supply to run my Engel fridge when I have it in my "other car" without going to the expense of fitting a dual battery system. Thanks.

Do you want to run only when travelling or what.
If only for short trips then mount a socket with relay inline to switch on when travelling.
Should get bit of tim with fridge keeping cool

Paul, if you don't want to install a dual battery system you can buy an external battery pack from someone like Waeco $300 - $800 with either a 24 or 48 amp battery. Or you can buy a ready made battery pack from Supa cheap for $100 includes battery box circuit breaker and battery
test facility, all you have to do is buy a decent battery to put in it. I am nearly finished making my own portable battery box ( box, fuses and a couple outlets ) this is then going to be connect to a DBS via a wiring loom under the front
seat ( not enough room in the Vitara for another battery). All up it should cost about $350 including the deep cycle battery and the dual battery system.
Hope this helps
