A while ago someone posted details on how to rotate the clutch handle position on these
winches. I have tried searching the archives with limited success. If anyone out there has successfully completed this would they mind sending or posting detailed instructions. The winch I have is a 12000lb version with about a dozen small allen head bolts on the end of the clutch housing.
Thanks in advance

Hi Reggy
If it is like the one I have. Undo the 2 allan key bolts on the gear box end of the chrome rods. Slide the gearbox of and you will find about 10 little allan keys on the inside of the foot. Undo these and rotate the foot to where you want the clutch handle to be. Do it all back up.

Yeah, what Crazie said.
What city are you in? I have one in pieces on my workbench at the moment if you want to see anything before you start.
Cheers,
Chump

As JD said it can be a little tricky getting the shaft alligned with the face but if you have the motor and everything set up vertically it is no trouble.

Hi Crazy, Wondering how to do the same thing, do you have to unroll the cable or can it be done rolled up, are the allen keys you talk about behind the rope.
Cheers Rossco.

Hey Rossco
no need to unroll the cable, leave the drum where it is and slide the gearbox off. There are 2 big allen keys at the end of the chrome rods and then on the foot of the gearbox are the 10 little ones. The little ones you will discover when you slide the gearbox off. They sit where the drum and foot meet. They hold the foot to the gearbox.
Hopes this helps
