We are off on our big trip in a few days. We have a new 21ft family van and just noticed the heating cycle on the aircon is not very efficient.
Can anyone recommend a safe, light portable electric heater for a caravan?
Thanks

We've just bought a small Everdure CH20s for the house ,fairly compact, blows hot air(variable) and has a cut out switch if it tips over,$85 the good guys.

A small oil filled electric column heater may be worth considering. Silent, safe and some have a thermostat to control the temperature.

That's what I use very safe & I feel comfortable leaving it on all night. The fan heaters have one dissadvantage and that is that the get the van hot & switch of & on all the time and are in the confines of a van noisy. Small column heater cost me about $45 with timer & thermostat...

Get the van warm with the air con and column heater then turn the air con off no noise and your snug provided you have no chronic door openers.
However we use a fan heater with a thermo and find it very good but noise does not worry us as we are solid sleepers with no tin lids.

hey folks, get the aircon checked out as they are the most efficient use of power. Not that you usually would worry about power but they should provide all the warmth you need if you already have one. Try not to carry the extra bits as they have fuel penalties too.
