I seem to remember my Dad swearing by Briggs and Stratton lawnmowers but I've never seen there generators before. Does anyone know anything good or bad about them? I'm looking for something in between a $100 cheapie and a Honda, that I can't afford. This blokes got three for sale.

The old Briggs and Stratton where as noisy as hell, I'd say they've come along way like everyone else.
The guy is probably legit but his
feedback score is 0. I'd be asking what guarantee's he has before bidding. Maybe he can direct you to a real live trader.
If your looking at prices between GMC/Diesel and Honda you might like to view the Kipor and Engel's.

Seller must of only set up his account recently. I think you will find he is a regular on the Overlander forums and is legit.

I know the seller personally, he's legit and its all good. He owns the big mower
shop
(Western mowers & chainsaws) just near Toongabbi railway station in
Sydney.

We used to use a briggs and straton 3kva for running battery charges and power
tools while working in remote locations, noisest POS you'll ever lay your ears on. I mean it ran
well, but imagine your lawnmower add a little bit of load noise to it and you've got what you'll be sitting next to round the fire! I've heard the little GMC's, not tooooo bad noise wise, especially considering the $$$.
But yeah, go the kipor, my father in law's got a 2kva kipor and it's a neat unit.

Had B&S engines on ride on mowers and generators, all were reliable, but the
pic in the original post site link is a small portable NOT like the old traditional ones which were in steel frames to carry etc. I haven't seen one this small before I must admit.
Has this portable genny been rebadged as B&S?????
As staed before by post above - they were ALL noisy (the older ones I'm referring to) but damn reliable and good value especially on the land or semi fixed installations.
My 2 bobs worth again.
Cheers Barry

Sure has been rebadged on the engine front at least.
Follow this link, BSQ1000 and you'll find the engine is actually a Mitsubishi.
No mention of the source for the electrics.
