Can anyone help me how to identify if my Jackaroo is a wide body version or not. I am looking at a 2nd hand ARB bullbar off a 1999 Jackaroo and i want to know if it will fit my 2001 model.

Cheers
John

Hi John,
Does you Jack have shift on the fly 4WD or locking hubs.
The shift on the fly was the wide wheel track version.

Cheers Simon.

Hi John,
The easiest way to identify is the wide body has the number plate at the rear in the centre of the bumper bar,(down low), the previous model has the playe on the upper right rear door. Also the wide body has flaired wheel arches.

Yeah, all of that above is correct, although I think the shift on the fly may have come in earlier. Sure way to tell is check out where they have welded a couple of extra inches on either side of the rear axle tubes!!

wide track - not wide body.

only difference in body is the fitment of plastic flares and plastic panel along sills.

Not all late model Jackaroo's are wide body. The 'standard' poverty pack sold to government departments etc had the same track as the older models. Mine is a 2002 model year standard one and I enquired about the wide track etc and found that the U8 Jackaroo has the same track as the older L8. The same year model SE and Monterey have wide track. The special 'Nullarbor' is also wide track. All wide tracks had factory wheels arch flares.
