I called around this week lookin for deals on rubber - even to our club sponsors tryin to get prices on MTR's.

Well as it turns out, a bloke on OLimits called Beaurepairs Richmond for a price, and got a price that I couldnt believe. So I called JOHN there.
His price on 285/75x16 MTR's was $65 EACH TIRE cheaper than others that should be cheaper could muster!
Basically I got one free!

So I said GET EM, thinkin he was full of bovine faeces... but they are now on the truck..
(Although I had to get the spacer kit for rear door.)

John there is VERY good, I mentioned i had only had the car a few days, he grabbed the keys back off me, and gave it a 'wheel alignment'..

I know Old Scaley Steve is going to call him tomorrow, but anyone looking in Melbourne for tires give him a call, from what he told me, he is keen to do more deals with 4wders.

Coopers and Goodyear are their big gig, but they can pretty much do most I think.

Beaurepairs

- Speak to JOHN.

Truckster,
i think beaurepaires might be doing a bit of a deal on all goodyear tyres at present.
i got 3 prices today for MTRs after seeing a brochure at work.
final price was $73 cheaper than most expensive( from my usual tyre supplier) and $33 better than the next best price( where my son normally gets his MTRs).same size 285/75/16.
They were also $13 less than last set of BFG ATs I purchased.
get them fitted on Monday.
was also told goodyear jacking up MTRs by 6% from 1 july.Might only be sales pitch but the way petrol is going its on the cards .
cheers
Howard

Truckster, the 285's have a larger diameter than originals and i think the 4.2 nissan has a higher ratio than 3.0l do you notice any difference in low range or first gear performance ?????

G'day Truckster
What kms do you reckon you'll realistically get out of them?
$65 is a huge saving. Just for interest sake I rang a Beaurepairs up here in Brisbane and they quoted $343 each. You never said what the actual price was.

Working from previous posts, the best price was $260 and then truckster found
them $65 cheaper, so they cost him $260-$65=$195....

Very clever Stan. I wasn't aware of the previous related posts. That's an incredibly good price. I would have thought Beaurepairs's prices to be fairly standard across capital cities but obviously not. I'm heading down that way at the end of the year so I might check them out then and hope the guy is still cheap.
