hi all, well couble of weekends ago i did some well over due servicing on my maverick, you know oil, timimg, and i reset the tappets as well, that was on the sunday and here it is the following tuesday and i can only just move around the house again. haven't been to work as i put my back out big time, i did it the week before at work and finished it off on the sunday. anyway now i have to put a overhaul kit through the carby as i haven't used it on petrol in 12 months or more and won't go on petrol, what i want to know is it a big job or can i do it my self a i like to do most things never done a carby before. the kits only $50 but bet labour would be a killer. peter

Some of those Jap dual throat carbs are a pain as are others. Be methodical & dont drop any vitals in the sand etc!

Hey Mate! the carby is easy enough to repair yourself. You really only need to replace the top gasket, accelerator pump and the base gasket. they just dry out and leak. The best place to do this is on the kitchen bench, just send the missus out for a couple of hours of retail therapy.
Cheers
