Not again they all say ..... .. but hey, atleast i'm asking about a particular type, model and size of tyre.
They are > Firehawk RMT's (made by Firestone) 30x9.5xR15
Looking to get some new ones for the Frontera, and can get these for $165/tyre at the moment.
Not too worried about how much they are going to wear etc, cause I plan to sell my car in a couple of months anyway. More worried about grip in the wet, good traction on partially muddy/dirt roads and not to noisy on the black-top.
I have been checking them out onthe internet, and they seem to have a reasonably agressive tread pattern, possibly too agressive for the 'all terrain' tyre that i should be looking for ? but hey ... atleast then I'll be able to give someone on here some feedback about them!
Just wondering has anyone ever had them before ?. positives V's negatives ? you know.. the usual questions.

After the debacle I had with Cooper STs, I said I would never pay that sort of money again for tyres.

I bought 30 x 9.5 x 15 Firehawk RMTs & couldn't be happier. They are a fraction noisier than the Coopers were, but they ride well, don't wear as badly, don't chip & are great in the bush.
My advice .... go for it, you won't regret it!

I have them in 31x10.5R15 on my 62 series cruiser, they have about 15,000 clicks now & are a great allrounder for the $155 ea. I have them on 8" wheels & they sit up with nice straight side walls @ 32psi & even wear thus far, their pattern is as you say somwhere between a A/T & M/T. I only wish they made them in a 33".

But very happy all the same.

Cheers

Maybe I'm a bit strange, but the only threads I enjoy more than the tyre threads are the fridge threads. So its not oh no not again, its yes, at last another tyre thread. :-)

You won't regret it, all you got to do now is work out what you are going to spend the more than $300.00 on, that you saved!
