Saw an ad for a computer chip upgrade for Mitsubishi vehicles, $119 when done with service, 4wd extra. For pre 2003 fuel injected vehicles..

Any one had this done, is it worth the effort.?

G'day Russell
Not sure about the bitsamissun, but I had a falcon ute that was chipped, also had a cam and extractors fitted. Went from factory specs of 98 kilowatts to 158, all up cost was $2100.00. Made the old girl get up and boogie. . . . . till it went into "limp home" mode from exceeding the computers' idea of dangerous speeds! LMAO

I saw this for Holdens the other day, and got the feeling it was more a 'software' upgrade than a replacement chip. Probably only has to do with diagnostics for their use and won't benefit you in any way performance or economy wise.

Have a friend who rechips or reprogammes a few cars.
Reckons he has worked out a remapping for a pajero that would get 180kw out of a stock 3.5l. Any more power and you need a few other mods like exhaust, throttle body, injectors etc.
He quite often doubles horsepower on the turbo european cars with a few minor mods.
