To save me "re-inventing the wheel" where do people mount the transceiver body in GU Patrol?

I have a place for the remote head.

i unscrewed the glove box(4 screws) on the triton and then zip tied it under the dash. not sure if the patrol is the same but it works really well and is easy to hear.

Hi anglepole,
We have B;lackwidow drawers fitten in the rear, when the draws get fitted there is a great space each side of the wheel arch's we on the kerb side we have fitted extra battery in the front and at the rear the HF rado it fits just great and has been there for 3 years now and no trouble at all.

If you have a cargo barrier, fitting it to the rear of the barrier works well. Good ventilation and up high should water become a problem.

I have a large old commercial UHF which I have mounted on the rear of the centre console. I took out the ashtray [ won't be needin that anymore, cough cough ] and mounted the UHF and a 12v outlet for the fridge.

Seats in, seats out, doesn't matter, it's not in the way and cannot be seen from outside the car. Mic cable is cable tied to the hand brake and power comes from under glovebox and thru the middle.

Hi Anglepole,

In my GU, I mounted the body of the CB under the centre console, you can remove the panels in the rear and mount it under the tray. I ran the cables up through the hand brake opening. You will need an external speaker though.

Hi,

I replaced the standard double DIN CD player with a single DIN MP3 player (can get 12 albums onto 1 CD so it beats a stacker). I then mounted my UHF radio in the spare slot.
