Does anyone have up to date info on Lawn Hill to Doomadgee. Is it open yet? The road info on this site is about a month or so old and still has it closed.

In a fortnight planning to go Mt Isa - Riversleigh - Lawn Hill - Doomadgee - Bourketown - Normanton etc

Any info appreciated re road flooding.

Hi Alan,
I'm also keeping my eyes open for those conditions.
Try here, it is supposed to be pretty up to date:
RACQ Road Conditions

Don't forget pre booking your camp site in Lawn Hill Nat. Pk.

Cheers,
Mike

If thats the "road" just out of Doomagee I remember I drove that some 18 years ago and at times it was by compass. Talk about rough, some creek crossings I was even a bit scared to walk. If I remember correctly the turn off was marked by a red drum on the right hand side coming out of doomagee heading east.

Great drive. Went on to camoolweal then back to Isa and arrived pretty tired. Had to get to camooweal to refuel as I last filled up at Karumba early that morning. 14 hours on the road that day. Very busy as well doing maintenance on some radio gear along the way.

Thanks Ellen that is great news!

We will be there at that time but just passing through. After a couple of days at Lawn Hill we are going on to Cobbold Gorge and then we go to Porcupine Gorge and then back home through Charters Towers; Emerald etc.
