O.k so now we seem to have progressed to a trailer (I'm shaking my head too).
I've done a search and I'm impressed with the level of satisfaction safari owners have, however I'd like to hear anyone's comments on the 4x4 tourer, in particular the build quality of the trailer and how good the
suspension is.
We plan on doing
cape york,
birdsville track, strezelecki and anything else that takes our fancy.
Cackles
thanks in advance.

thanks tony,
we are still undecided on which t/about to purchase, but at the moment without any feedback on the tourers it is a one horse race.
thanks again

nice car crazy, have one myself and it just won't die.
did you have a good look at the t/about tourer at all? we in mackay and don't want to go down to bris just yet so any feedback from anyone who has at least seen one would be good.

Ay Cackles,
Go down to the newsagent and pick up the latest copy of CAMPERTRAILER GUIDE. There is an article about the tourer in this edition. No I didn't see it but from what I have read I should have...
Good luck in your hunt...

Hey crazy,
Yeah i've read that article but it seems to concentrate on the living arrangements but doesn't talk much about the strength of the trailer or
suspension, I guess I will have to see one to judge it.
Does it tow
well behind your ute? what sort conditions has it seen and how did it handle?
Look forward to your reply

Trackabout MAN------ aka CACKLES
I fitted IRON MAN + helpers to the back springs ('bout $110) and that improved the height issue and all the stuff they say about them. Towing - ya wouldn't know it was there. Set the brakes for a smidge more than the ute and let the trailer start to slow you down. Biggest prob is the reversing circle - the stone guard is quite close to the back so you need to be carefull.
Had it off road at EMU
Creek station up here in the north and still tows beautifully.
Grrr!!!
