I recieved the new RAA cover in the post. It has a couple of extras over plus cover.
For the extra 40 bucks do you reckon it is worth it or just another money grab.
I can remember when the standard cover was just as flash.
Anyone else got the letter.

I let mine go this year. It may be worth it if you live in the city but out here in the scrub I rely on my network of friends and acquaintances to help out if needed.
I know it only works out at $2 per week but I have too many of them and the bill always arrives at an incovenient time.

I recken it' a bargain, I know a few friends that drive Toyotas broken down interstate and had their car towed back home for free, unless of course the local RAA can have the car going within 48 hrs ;-)

By coincidence I just found out about it and have been giving it serious consideration. I only learnt on EO last week that normal RAA membership covers you if your car is 2T or less (towing etc) whereas I understand this covers a vehicle up to 4T depending on the circumstances.

I found several of the conditions pretty confusing but can’t fault it really – it obviously doesn’t cover everything. I’ve read on EO that it will cost you $3000 to get pulled out of the Simpson and $5000 from the CSR (correct??) but understand RAA would pay up to $1750 for recovery from a ‘non serviced’ area (better than nothing). There seems to be no firm definition of a ‘non serviced’ area though i.e. as to where it is. I think it’s where their vehicles wont go??

Only comparable cover (also found it on EO) was ‘big4 assist’. Very worthy but does not seem as good IMHO.

So at this stage I think they’re gonna get another $41 bucks out of me.

[PS I was checking up on insurance on EO when I came across the 2T limit on normal membership. For what it’s worth I think some people here have had insurance conditions mixed up with motor club membership conditions – NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!!!! And had me pretty worried at first]
