hello all,

i have an 03 Gu patrol and there is a rattle / vibrate noise in the rear door, it is killing me. i have checked everything and it is still there.

I have taken it to my nissan dealer a number of times and all they do is grease the seals, they are useless.

i have a 35 inch spare on the rear door,

When i take the spare off it goes away, i have been told that a 35 is to much weight for the rear doors. is this true?

has anyone else had problems with there rear doors?

I have been told to put a rear wheel carrier on for the spare, i am not a fan of the look of them.

Think you have answered it by removing it and the noise goes away.

Bruce,

Did you get any rattle problems using the spacer on the 285s?

Brent

I had the same problem with my GU I have 285 175 R16 Brigestone A/T.

I fixed it by using 25mm x 25mm steel tube painted it with 3 coats of Kill Rust paint to pack out the bracket that holds the spare wheel on.

The bolts that hold that bracket on are 65mm long and are long enough to do the job.

I did mine 3 years ago and no problems way cheeper than swing arm types.

Try this first
