Has any body used the door hinges on ebay.?
A full set for the front doors ( 4 hinges ) @75.00 plus postage.
And the sliding rear windows plastic closing clips(carnt call them locks!) $20..each.
Just interested to see if there not rubbish.
Another point , with the cold weather my 5 speed trans is as usuall difficult between 1st- 2nd. A mate off mine who is a brilliant transmission specialist suggessted I try an oil called Agritrans 75-90. He has used it before with great success. Has anybody used this oil.I will try the product this weekend and post the results.

I have a 99 rodeo and have used castrol vmx-80. I am looking forward to trying it in my jackaroo. excellent in the cold! I had the sam problem where the manual recommended engine grade oil.

I just changed to Castrol VMX-M 75/85 and it fixed the shift baulk in our 80 series Toyota. Worth a try.

Castrol syntrax 75w90 GL5 fully synthetic in our GU. Only comes in 20ltr or more, however I took a 5ltr cont to the local truck worksop who filled it from their drum. Quite an improvement.

On the hinges.. when you work out that the originals WILL last you 15 yrs, they arent that expensive compared to something you have no idea on how long they will last.

Nifty
There seem to be 2 batches of door hinges on ebay one lot about $75 per set the other about $130 per set from a mob called roodogs4wd spares. I have purchased other items from roodogs previously and was impressed with the quality. I will be trying their door hinges soon. I will let you know my opinion.

cheers
Kerry
PS I use Penrites Manual Gear Oil Lite (80 grade) which fixed my 1st to 2nd gear chrunches in winter.
