Just wondering if anyone would know if it's possible to drive safley from
Lawn Hill (Adels Grove) to
Karumba in a day towing a CT. It's approx 500 km,
Thanks in advance,
Tankman..

Hi,
except for the bit between Adel's Grove and
Gregory Downs (via Burke and Wills Roadhouse), it's all (single lane) bitumen - as for driving it safely in your rig,
well, I reckon it's your call.
Going via
Burketown and the
Savannah Way - mainly dirt, although I haven't travelled the bit between Adel's Grove and
Burketown, so cannot advise on that stretch - road condition can vary a lot, especially if you add a bit of water !
regards
Terry

Hi Taskman
Yes, if you leave by 9-10 am you should be in Kurumba by late afternoon, even with seeing
places along the way.
If the road out of Adel's to
Gregory Downs is graded, you will have no trouble. If it hasn't been graded watch out for ruts and bulldust patches.
The last 2 times we were there in 2002 & 2004, the road was great to drive on from
Gregory Downs Pub to Burketown/
Normanton & Kurumba with most of it being bitumen.
