Does anyone have the latest on the

Hi Ian, the CREB is still closed with no indication yet on when it will be opened for transit. In 2005 it was not opened until some time in August. Hope this helps your planning, cheers,
Ray.

a friend of my cousins mums half sister said she heard on a bus that........
seriosly, im hoping to do the CREB on 8th july, and rang the wet tropics info people last thursday (14/6) and asked about the CREB.
They told me that due to the current rain they would not be assessing it until 2 weeks from then (so one week from now) and would update there web site then
www.wettropics.gov.au/news.html
with the details, when I told him when I was going to be there he did not like my chances.
when you planning on being there?

Zach,
We are leaving
Sydney 01/06 and would be there about 06/06. It sounds like the weather has beaten us this time. We are headed to the top of the Cape. I hope it hasn't beaten us there also. I will
check with the main roads dept in a few days.
Thanks.

SWMBO spoke to her mum (who lives in Millaa Millaa) on the telling bone earlier this evening...
Raining up that way as we speak, & the country generally is very wet...
No specific info on the
CREB track, but you can draw your own conclusions;-)...

I think I conclude that we won't be doing that bit of road this time.

Don't do it with a caravan.....
Just watched the Kedron caravan mob DVD with them doing it last October- what a laugh! Just for something different they blew the front diff in their 100 series (surprise, surprise)
Braver than I, attempting something like that with a caravan.

Just returned from FNQ. Recommend you leave the van at Bloomfield Cabins and Caravan Park and do a day trip up to
Roaring Meg Falls via China Road - which is the northern section of the
CREB Track. The southern section was not open as you have been advised.
Cheers
Mitch
