I may only post a few times a week, but im on exploroz (and one other local 4x4 forum) multiple times daily (read lots and lots...to the point where its detrimental for me to do so at work lol)...yes i should know better.

I've actually made the bold move of approaching my supervisor for a voluntary internet ban on my system.

Henceforth...for the forseeable future..I'll only be able to check the forum out ...after work lol

For all those other net junkies out there...im thinking of forming a support group lol...kidding.

Cheers

Rev

Hi, I'm Brian, and I'm an EO junkie.

I was first on the internet in 1992 or 3 (bulletin boards before that) and have spent a lot of time on it since but I've made a lot of real life friends from it too, had a lot of fun and learned a lot of stuff. I find my usage of it tends to reflect what's happening in my "real" life: when things are a bit static (like now) I use it a lot - when other areas are taking my attention the internet fades away.

As I watch almost zero TV and (to my shame) my book reading has dropped off of late the internet is a significant source of entertainment. Ex Oz has become my main forum of choice because of the friendly people (and the antagonistic ones - I _do_ enjoy a good argument – surprising as that may seem to some :) and the breadth of knowledge of many areas which interest me.

However, like all things, if it starts to intrude into the way we operate on a daily basis then we need to become aware of that, so "good on yer Rev" for recognising that and exercising some self-discipline.

Hard to believe Matt I know - but there is a grain of truth in it :)

Mind you... I don’t lack for competition, do I...?

Yes Rev,

but what about the depression that sets in when you only get 4 or 5 new posts since the last time you logged on. Never enough new posts.

4 or 5 new posts? that would be a lot lol...I'd check back sometimes and nothing had changed.

(thinks to himself...maybe i should have left it more than 5 minutes)

Yes, here I am...and its after work now...so im ok.

I did break my promise once, and checked it for a minute in the afternoon...

But they are cutting my net off on monday...so the temptation will be gone.

My supervisor was actually impressed that i had requested such...but I know my own work habits...and I know things wouldnt end up well...If I keep at it for much longer.

Bit of a problem here too at times. Three computers to log in through, two people. I do like people to create some interest though. Gramps tries to do that too.

Good to have you aboard Neville, though the Eastern States seem to have a lot of members now. It is good to build the social side as they all are.

I used to think I was addicted also but since giving up the smoking addiction I now have to power to conquer the world including giving this forum the almighty flick. Arhh it's all in the mind, what did Freddy sing.....WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS...OF THE WORLD.

Enjoy the forum but enjoy yourself more.

For me the Net is an escape, a fantasy. Yes I do see a shrink & a Psych & disccuss my addiction with them. Alas as I have no other vices i have to somehow get away from the tedium of daily toil some how, I did suggest wild women but DVA, though they would provide me with the Viagra, won't actually cover the prohibitive costts associate with using the Viagra so I'm in a viscious circle...
