Can anyone give me any info as in regard to camping at
cape le grand &
lucky bay
the reason I ask is a lot of CALM sites we have been to a to small for our camper trailer and the kids tent. They tend to place these copper logs around the place which restrict our style of camping.

We stayed at Cape LeGrand in January with a Trak Shak, which is a fairly large camper. Whilst not every site would accomodate us, some would. The previous advice to get there early is key. We achieved that by staying at Cape Arid for a few days, then moving on to Cape LeGrand eraly one morning. We arrived by about 8.30am as people were starting to leave and then had the pick of sites.
I'd recommend Cape Arid as a place to stay.
regards,
Dave

While you're out that way, you might like to
check out
Alexander Bay as
well..
Definitely
well worth a look, & at least some of the sites there are easily capable of accommodating 2 (or more) campertrailers...
Also, as Cape Arid & C. Le Grande seem to get most of the publicity, there's a very good chance that there will be far fewer ppl at Alexander.. (depending on when you're there, I guess;-)))

The caravan/camper site at
Lucky bay is huge but very open. I suggest bays 1,2or 3 at Le grand campsites. They are large and
well protected from the weather. The
camp kitchen up to date with gas and a bbq, but the "warm" solar showers could do with an upgrade. We were there 3 weeks ago, and it was nearly empty.

I would say at this stage Cape Arid would be our most eastern destination.
