Ironman are currently marketing their winch in a big way and what seems to be a a low price, compared to others on the market.

I know you get what you pay for and have considered this in my appreciation, whilst searching for a winch. However, Im not into rock hopping or heavy off road work, so to speak. Im just looking for a winch that will get me out of trouble, if I get myself into that situation.

I suppose what I am trying to say, I cant justify paying in excess of a $1000 for a product that I may rarely use, if ever.

With the above said, can any reader give me any technical advice, why I shouldnt purchase a 9,500lb Ironman winch?

Some will tell you to spend the $2k to make sure of yourself, but I did witness one brand name one starting with W fail at the Outback Challenge. I was told it was the third time for the event at that stage on the Wednesday

Having seen the well known brand starting with a big W pulled apart...
Go with the cheaper brands!!
They couldn't be any worse than the W
