Hi guys.
I am going up through
Wollombi and the Yengo Nat Pk at the weekend and would love to know if the Stettlers track from Paynes Crossing to Howes Valley is open or not?
I am aware of the status of other tracks in the area but not this one.
I know it was closed last year at Howes Valley end due to some dispute between the Howes Valley residents and
Singleton Council re maintainance etc. but has anyone done it this year for sure, and able to confirm status now?
Looking forward to any reply's negative or positive.

Still closed, but at the
Wollombi end. The dispute I think was with the landowner who owns the land next the the
Wollombi Brook but I may be wrong. Give NPWS a call in the Gosford office, they have the information.
There is a track that runs along the Hunter range from the eastern side and come out just to the south of Howes valley via Finchly trig.

We intend using that track, thanks anyway. I was hopeing to return to
Wollombi via the other track. Looks like we will return via Broke. Thank you mate.
