Dear all,
I am looking for advice on the best maps to use for a summer assault on the tracks in the high country East and West of
Omeo.
I have three HEMA maps "The High Country - Victoria", "East Gippsland" and "Victoria East & West". These maps are okay, but I need more detail to understand the trip notes of others. Do I need to go for topographic maps?
Where can I find the best local detailed maps of the tracks between
Tom Groggin,
Omeo and
Mansfield. Thanks all.

Try 'Rooftops - Adventure maps' . you may nedd more than one but they have everything you need on them including all tracks and trak notes. Available from any decent outdoor
shop in the North East

Ads,
Are the rooftop maps similar to the Topo Maps and inclusive of most of the small "logging" type tracks that seem to go everywhere?
Have you used them with Oziexplorer and how accurate are they.
If the 3 CD's cover most of the high country, they would
well be worth having.
Cheers
Des.
PS Good to see the upgrade to a decent truck. o:)))

Hello Des
Yes the maps are great, prob not as detailed as the topo maps, but they have never let me down. I have all the CD's are the paper maps to match. email me adam_craze at hotmail dot com.

Ps. As for the truck, The jack is still the fav. Can't believe how thirsty the 100 is. 4" lift and 35's dont help hahaha

35's should make it better shouldn't it???
There is a good 1:50000 series of parts of the high country, not sure if they are digital too but you could travel the old fashioned way using paper maps!!!
There's another fourby you've yet to lift, you know that green GU you were looking for? maybe before the end of the year.....

Mansfield is a good map, thats all I use for our yearly club trip up there..
Lots of the tracks around the HCountry are seasonal (closed until November)
