All you old wags that keep this site going, let me know what are the topics that get the greatest number of Views. J

ust mention fog lights and you get 600 to look in since 6.00.

Does any one know what is the greatest number of Views on one Thread?

Just put Toyota and Nissan together in the first line and you are guaranteed to start a riot and be accused of all sorts of lies - add sex and you will be a winner or the moderator will remove the post - same applies if you discuss the demise of cats

I think you can see that the view info is open to distortion, corruption and hominisation.

I think you just became an expert!
You're not paying someone to hit some buttons are you? Open thread, return to index, open thread, return to index.........
It could be a record for the most number of hits with the least number of replies and follow-ups!
Don't know what the record is but Eric from Cape York Connections did pretty well not too long ago with a post about road conditions up there.

Currently PostID: 22257 has the most - the view counts were only added a few years after we started so the numbers across the board will be a little less. However this post has nearly (and now we have mentioned will have some more) 6000 views.

Thanks for the info on most Views David. Very interesting. The follow on affect from search engines obviousl is part of the equation for most Views.

Do you have any info on the most Views over a short period of time?

I find it most interesting that a lot of the Posts attract my attention but often have only a small number of Views, while others say about fog lights, an item widely used, have relatively large number of Views. The Anons sure outnumber the Members and Visitor, I did not recognise this before.

There has got to be a PhD some where in all of this.

My post last night looks like a good money spinner at 1457 Views to date. Oh well back to the drawing board of life.

How do you manage to be up at midnight after the big match?

Even our mate at PostID: 35352, with nearly 6000 Views only has 12 replies and 6 follow-ups.

This all so weird. The world is just not in balance any more. How can I make sense of it all if it just keeps changing......

The world is just full of lookers at those stuck in the mud hole, just like happens in the bush.

David, do you have stats on the Posts that generate the largest numbers of Replies and Follow-ons.

How about Posts that have a long shelf life?

What topics that are of greatest interest for the search engines?

I have already applied for my enrollment at Newcastle Uni in the marketing and psychology faculties.

I tried, lasted 23 seconds, then it got the better of me. Talk about artificial thread view inflation.

How's it going David. Do you just log on in the middle of the night?

We are going well at making a great one day record attempt. I am pleased to say almost all of the contributers can see the funny side to the thread. I can't stop laughing at the number of people wanting to waste time on nothing, all you need is a bit of bait and off you go.

Hope you don't mind the little games some people play. I have really learned a lot from the exercise.

hi chris
over the years i've been a member to get the views you need question title that looks interesting and to get the most response you need controversy.

some of the long time "guru's" on the site have the technique down pat.

eg. start or spread a rumour. eg. about anything interesting

another technique is to get stuck into the "meaty" subjects. eg. vehicle access, indigenous affairs, tyre failure, fridge performance. then move onto, govt, vehicle type and politics.

cheers and let this post grow

peter

Thanks Peter, every little bit of help is welcome. We are up to 1580 in just 12 hours you beautie.

My next tack is to include some meaty topics for the search engines to work on, your comments will help.

All the best and keep laughing.

Spread the news that we are out to break the record of 6000.

We are up to 1580 since last night and we need to reach 6000.

Ever little bit helps. Send two responses if you like.

Who cares. Are you bored or something.

The most views was for the Kenyan who travelled to the market with his wife on the camel. It eventually got taken off because it got a little out of hand.

I juast added 300 more visits to this site in 30 seconds.

Remember that the counter does not tell the truth and can be manuipulated quite easily by anyone.

I was bored and set up anew post for the 'least number of views' with a link from this thread as a joke. Very suspiciously my reply here and my new post were moderated! Someone is very serious!

but by the time everyone who views this post then goes to the other post to see what it was about, that post will then be up by that amount again at around the 8000 mark.....
so the seeds of the defeat of your original ambition have been sown by David in his post with the link to the other post.....snookered
