My 80 Series has had the sub
tank replaced with an LPG
tank. I want to tackle the
Anne Beadell Highway in a few months, but not sure what option to take with fuel. Have considered carrying jerry's, but had thought about a temporary replacement of the LPG
tank with a fuel
tank. Any thoughts?

hmmm
well im a fan of gas so i of course would recomend getting a 120L gas
tank put in your wagon but i guess that all depends how much space you require.. even a 60L would get you prob 350km....
Any body know of prices to fit another
Tank on an existing gas system???

What's the distance? Around 1300km's I think. So if you allow 350kms out of LPG
tank and 450km out of the petrol
tank and you use 25l / 100km, you're going to need another 140l of petrol (absolute minimum). If you're putting the standard sub
tank back in, I think that they are 50 litres so you're still going to need to carry 90 litres in jerry cans. Depends on how many jerry cans you've got and how much space you have.

Haven't got the numbers with me right now, but can get unleaded (or Opal) a bit over half way at the station that opened up there in the last 12 months, so was thinking I might only need to carry one or two. Do you know if you can temporarily disconnect gas, and then reconnect later?
