It can be done easily

Dozens of GQs out there petrol and diesel with dual batteries... But yes it does get cramped.

Where to you live?? In Melbourne, I recommend Alan at Outback Accessories in Seaford.. OUTSTANDING work...

Any 4wd shop will be able to help you with this.

I went to a place on Wells Rd Frankston his price was insane! Went to piranha myself and saved 100's!

As I said Call Alan if your on this side of town. Say big Fat Cripple Bruce with the Big Black GQ told ya to call.... :D

Set one up myself.
Battery sits opposite other battery where coil is.
Moved coil slightly drilled and bolted new battery holder in position and made bracket to keep tray flat.
Then i used a manual isolator connection between the two batteries so i could start of my auxillary without having to use jumper leads like you do with the electronic ones and mounted a switch on the dash.
But each to there own.

Hi Robert... Because you have gas fitted you have no room in the passenger side rear for another battery....
I have just fitted a second batt in the rear of the car with success to run a 40 litre engel..
I have run the fridge non stop for 4 days with no startup and have not run it flat yet..
email me for info if you want...

Robert,

When I had the gas on my GQ changed from barbeque gas to a decent impco unit the converter was fitted into the drivers side leaving the passeger side rear under the bonnet free for the second battery.

All the best

Bonz

As tim said , about moving the coil you simply turn the bracket the coil is on, around the other way , this moves the coil back abit then use a diesel battery bracket it will sit snuggly next to your radiator over flow bottle. Then you only have to work out what management system you want to use ,I just used a 90 amp solenoid .
( forgot to mention you will need to remove/reroute your air intake)
Good luck regards Craig.
