does anyone know what you need to do to legally put a second row of seats into HZJ75 troopy.
it is only a 3 seater and i am looking at purchasing 2 folding seats and i want to do what i must do to get it legally into the back of the troopy. i am based in QLD.
cheers

I guess the standard answer to that would be to consult an engineer in the same way you would if you wish to put in an oversize engine.
Not neccesarily expensive if you shop around.

It might be easier to see if Toyota pre drilled the holes for their bench seat and use them.

yeah look for factory wholes and try reuse them but also mate there is a fair bit involved, i had an FJ40 and put 2 seats in the back, i did it all myself and i had to get an engineers cert. and also had to re-register the vehicle as a 5 seater instead of a 3 seater, think pretty seriously about wether you REALLY need to do it, cos i got hastled like no tomorrow and cops always use to check their records and stuff, absoloute night mate

My experience with this is as follows.

Purchased my second Troopy in 1998 in Adelaide.
Had a 3 seater bench seat and belts professionally installed.
A week later we were off to Queensland to live.
After 3-4 months there, went to change my rego plate to Qld. Was told that I would need a safety certificate for the car before I could change.
Went to my local safety certificate guy. He checked out the car, he asked me about the rear seat. I told him I had it done in Adelaide. He took a look at it and without anything said he fitted a Queensland transport 'Modification plate' inside the drivers door just below the door striker. Now a 6 seater.
DONE!
I would suggest talking to your local safety certificate guy.
He may be able to help.
Hope this helps!
