I have Triton 4x4. Bought Regent Rover 12'6" van. Told I wouldn't need stabilisers. It doesn't sway but bobs up and down at rear of car and front of van on humpy roads. Told a light weight bar would help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Weigth distributing hitches spread the load placed on the tow hitch more evenly between the van, the rear axle and front tyres. It will lessen the action you descibe and keep the tow vehicle and van a little more level.

If you tow enough the weight placed on the rear axle by the van will put more stress on the rear suspension. Don't be fooled into thinking a 4 WD suspension is bullet proof, mine dropped 50mm from standard after 2 years of towing, even with the use of WHD!

In additon you may not get enough weight on the front axle which may cause your steering to be a little light.

It has nothing to do with the size of the van but the GVM and tow ball weight it puts down.

You can get a simple/cheap 90 kg (Tow Ball Weight) Camec setup not sure of the price.
