Heading up there in a fortnight, what's the road like?

Towed my boat up there (KNX to
Kalumburu, can't speak for the western half) and it was pretty good all things considered. It does deteriate (more corregations) as trafic use increases, but there are a few good and bad sections, and some newly worked sections. The biggest hazards are (some of!) the other road abusers.
Have a good trip

gidday
we did the whole trip in may. the pentecost and durack rivers (the major crossings)were about 6/700 mm deep, and no hassles. shud be less now. the road itself was ok, and they were starting to grade it, but with the traffic over it since we were there, it mite hv gone off a bit. basically no hassles if u are prepared properly.

just came off the road today travelled from
Derby To Kunnunura and up to Drysdale Station the road to Mt Barnett is pretty good and pretty rough from there to the Kulumbaru turn off, from there to the Pentecost is great in sections where they have done road work but in others it is ordinary, there is a lot of work and grading going on so with any luck it should be better when you get there the Pentecost is about 500mm and no problems, the Durack is very shallow but with a big pot hole in the middle but is OK if you take your time from the Pentecost to the end is quite good with only a few corrigations. I towed a Supreme Territory 19 foot van with no problems, so have a good trip
