A while ago I think this year, someone was showing off their extra glovebox they had put in their patrol. They had put a nice looking lock on it. I believe from bunnings but I can't find the same thing at bunnings now or any other store I go into. I have searched this site and can't find the thread I have also searched the internet and can't find a lock that looks the same. I have done this conversion to mine and would like to have this lock on it. I have read the other solutions and will do one of these if I can't track this down, but my first preference is for this cam lock that I saw. So if anyone can point me in the right direction of this thread or let me know who it was I would really appreciated it. If I can get a brand name for this lock I should be able to get one.

I know this is at another place and probably "off limits" but here it is link here Comments as to the cavernous size. The drawer pull may be a bit of a give away though.

Drifta, will post the pics of what I have done tomorrow. No carpet in the box yet, but the hinge is there, the lock too, and lined bottom and sides. Have to put silicone round the rougher corners. Doesn't look too bad and pleased it will take a key to open it without the what I thought was an untidy pull down latch on that post.

I must say the latch wasn't quite how i remembered it and i wont be doing the same as i also thought it was a little untidy. I want a latch that can lock with a key but can also be opened and closed without the key, like a traditional glovebox. I was trying to get away from having anything protruding out if I could, just in case of an accident. Have not found anything of the like yet. I am going away in 12 days so i might just use velcro till i get home and do something more permanent then. I have had this glovebox in there for about 12 months with the wife telling me to put a latch on it but as usual i may have left my timing a bit late. I'll be getting that look if it falls open on the CSR. I look forward to your pictures.
Thanks

Did mine some time ago , making a cavity carefully out of carpet, cable tied to various points, it delivers about 3 times the volumne of commercial approach and for the lock, well by setting up the hinges correctly the panel becomes a slight interferrence fit, and when closed sits out just a few mm. This then allowed the use of strong magnets to ack as a latch so that never had to drill the front panel and you wouldn't normally know there is a second glovebox.
