Hi All,
my GQ ST Patrol gear lever has recently started to lift out of the selector arm when in gear - car stays in gear. I can easily just push down and pop it back in and fix it untill it lifts again -it lift out all the time..... Ive worked out it is most likly one of the snap rings so fixing should be easy enough to get to and fix
Now this morning I went to remove the plasitc covering from around the 4wd selector and gear stick area - the plastic unit that is between the centre console and the bottom of the centre dash unit where the radio is. But I cant find how to remove it. I remove the 2 screws from the front, but it is locked in place some how at the rear of the plasitic moulding, but I cant work out how.. and there is nothing at all mentioned in the Gregories manual about how to remove it.
Does anyone know how to remove this damm plastic cover??
many thanks in advance!!
regards
Bryan

Bryan,
From memory there area few screws holding it in place mate. There are the two u found at front and another 2 at the side towards the rear around the radio level in hieght. Also from memory behind the ash tray there is 1. Remove the ashtray and stick ur head in u will see a screw that holds the ashtray frame in, that is also 1 that needs to come out. Then there are 2 or 4, cant recall above the air outlets, they are facing the roof so ya gotta have the screwdriver handle down towards the floor and
the tip looking up. Its not ahard job mate, just dont force anything, once all the screws r out it will slide forward easily. if it doesnt slide, you know there r more screws. Hope that helps

not so much remove it mate, most of it is part of the frame. I forgot to mention that u have to pop the air control knobs off too..they should slide off witha good grip if not use a small screwdriver and lever them off careful not to scratch anything.
