G'day All. Can anyone please tell me where to find the seatbelt/door open beeper on the new hilux....it annoys the bags out of me. You can't park with the door open to hear the radio without the bloody thing going flat out. Why can't they make them with a 5 second timer.

Yeh but it's every time you open the door the door as well if you leave the keys in, which is always in the bush. If I can find it, I'll just unplug it.

Close the doors and wind down the Windows, that’s what I do sometimes. Mine not only beeps but also all the interior lights stay on as well if you leave the door open.

Know the feeling. Our work cars are BA Falcons and they have an annoying seatbelt beeper which is a pain when your on a worksite or just moving your car. We kept complaining to our Ford dealer until they gave in and told us how to stop it. Hold the hazard light switch in, turn on the ign, insert seatbelt, remove seat belt, realease hazard switch, turn off ignition. Its all programming dont rip out the beeper because that could warn of things you want. Keep nagging the Toyaota dealer and he probably wont tell you ( saftey reasons ) but grab a mechanic and nag him until he tells you.

Hi all. There is a code you can enter to stop the seat belt beeper coming on. Got a new hilux and it drove me crazy the beeping. I found the instructions on the net. If I can find it again I will post it here. I got my local dealer to stop the door open beeper.

Stick your noggin under the driver's seat. There are a couple of leads which you can unplug. You can now drive around without a seat belt on and not go nuts.

Then grab a philip's head screw driver. Take off the plastic moulding under the steering wheel & column (a couple of screws only). There's a similar two wire plug poking out of the ignition bolt, close to the end the key goes in. Unplugging that will stop the chiming when you leave the keys in the ingition.

This info came from my Toyota dealer. Have done it myself. Sane again!
