call me silly... Ok... I asked for it... but there seems to have been a few comments on ths and other threads about using Oziexplorer to navigate streets.. Is there a new version ouit or am I just meissinga feature of Ozieplorer??

Does Ozi now have street navigation ? Or is it just that it's being used like a paper map in that all it does with moving map is show your location on the map.
I guess whqt I'm asking is, does it work like street mapping progrmas where you can select addresses, 'lock to roads' etc so if thereis a lsight error it doesn't show you driving through buildings etc and what about turn by turn prompts?

Surley if it is just showing yu as a dot on a mpa, this is a dangerous way to travel given that you would need to be practically watching the map at every turn.

Please enlighten me as to how Oxiexplorer works for street navigation? Cheers

it doesn't work....and never will with a raster style mapping program. All the routable/street guidance programs use vector data to compute the best (?) route to follow along streets.

There is nothing difficult with using a raster map to see where you are and work out in your mind which way to turn. The vector based programs just eliminate the "mind" in the equation. :-)

Just be aware that we are not saying the driver is necessarily using the program to navigate whilst driving. That's why we have passengers :-)

UBD City Streets V3 will operate perfectly in Ozi and includes all capital cities, Wollongong, Newcastle and the blue mountains.

I am using it in Darwin right now.

It must be version 3.

$60 at the RAA in SA
