Hi,
I am helping rebuild a 2F motor and we need to order a VRS gasket set but there is an early and late in the parts books but they only give the month and year to determine which is which. This moter is out of an unknown vehicle but does have the engine number 2F 110490. Can anyone help?
No-one in
Rockhampton stocks either set so we can't visually check and the only difference may be the tappet cover gasket. Any ideas?

Dags,
I have rebuilt several over the years and as far as I know all the later stuff was 2F, only the early F motor was different.
Not sure when the F motor was replaced, early 70's I think.
I think you will find that todays kits will cover all bases, Ive had 76, 77, and 79 models and all have been the same.
Call TUFF STUFF in
Adelaide on 08-8342 4422 and they will know, might even be able to sell you a kit, found there toyota knowledge pretty good over the years.
Cheers Pesty

Dags,
My son gets a lot of his spares for his FJ40 from Landcruiser Mart in
Brisbane. Their phone number is 07 38751122. He has also gotten VRS kits for other 40 series he has done up from both Repco and Autobarn in
Brisbane. Repco Number is 07 32085000 and Autobarn is 07 32081288.
Hope this helps.

Dags,
As long as it is a 2F, there is only 1 VRS kit listed for it, the early one superceds to the later one.
The genuine part number is 04112-61041, but you may have trouble finding one,
as no dealers that i know of stock it, and it has to come out of Japan which is typically a 3-4 week wait. Cost would be about $370inc.
