I think I forgot how expensive it is to run these trucks...but then again I think I might have a small problem with the GU. As most of you know it wasn't driven allot over the past 12 months. I filled up on Sunday and only did 540km's and used 124 liters, I filled up again on Wed and I have already used about 45 liters and have only done 220km's. I am doing a oil and filter change tomorrow night. The air filter is fairly new. Can it be a sparkplug problem? or just the fact that I have not driven the car in ages and I have bad fuel or crap in the
tank? I also put through some injector cleaner stuff. What else could be wrong?
The driving I have been doing included highway and city driving
Thanks

G'day Troll,
Sounds about right for me! But then again yours is not a 4.8 petrol guzzler right? Not sure what your normal consumption is/would be, maybe only a shade on the high side. My guess is stale fuel - hopefully it has worked its way through by now.
Kind regards

It's a 4.5 guzzler :) I used to get around the 700 mark out of both tanks so there must be something wrong. Will see how I go after the oil change and filter change and hopefully plugs.
Does anyone know a good place in
Brisbane to get a dyno tune? I got one quote for $400 dyno and tune and thought that was a bit high

Don't know any dyno tune place but was wondering if it could be the engine management gear if the battery was allowed to run too low? My fix for that these day is disconnecting the battery and letting it reset - hopefully without error messages etc.
Kind regards

I can already rule that one out because I had to put a new battery in so it was disconnected for about 10 min while I was swapping it over and I had no problems starting it

Troll,
You could try Tony Motson's for the Tune.

Could be any of the above - a decent tuneup and new plugs should fix it. Talking economy - have u thought about dual fuel ? I've just converted my LC100- gives me an additional 3-400k range andwith autogas fuel at less than half price the math works out that if you do over 25,000k in a year on LPG - it just about pays for the conversion cost - as a retiree any investment that gives me such a good return is a good bet! Provided of course the LC and I last long enough ??
Now that gas guzzlers are cheaper - buy one 2nd hand and spend some of the savings on a duel fuel system! Seems like a good idea to me.
Will also push up LC resale values- I hope!
