A propper marine battery "house" Battery should be deep cycle any way.
Some so called marine batteries are also badged heavy duty 4wd etc.
Read and compare the specifications - diferent brands and marketing interpret the compromise between deep cycle and starting applications differently. Failing all else the weight of a battery gives a good indication of it's quality / longevity.

Depends how deeply you want to cycle the battery between recharges. If more than 20% then go the deep cycle as they can handle up to 50% without affected their rated life. Cheaper in the long run.

Thanks for the info guy`s. Sorry I have taken a few days to reply, my `putor crashed big time on Friday. Had to wait for my techno mate to build another unit for me, worked out cheaper than repairng the other one. Regards Salty.
