Life was nor meant to be easy - thats for sure.
In dash single CD player in 2000 Jack has died. I go to spend my hard earned and find that becuse the unit is integrated with the radio tape deck I have a big problem - All modern CD players apparently have their own radio etc etc so I have to lose the integrated tape deck if I install a new CD player (because the existing radio etc is turned off and just stays there to fill the hole)
Solution - Buy a new CD player which has its own on/off and no radio etc.
Problem - No such animal any more.
Solution - Have it fixed - How deep are pockets and absolutely no guarantee when they try.
Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase the old fashioned CD player - or even better still a wrecker who may just have one. Or another solution.
Wife uses the tape deck.
Thanks

Forget the CD player. Lots of units now starting to come onto the market with a direct input for an mp3 player. This works better than an FM connection and saves cost of an FMtransmitterand CD player. Repco have a cheap radio with mp3 input for about $40.00 that works surprisingly
well. $200 will get a good quality am/fm radio with direct input. Before getting an ipod, look at a couple of other brands. I have a Creative Zen Neon. Better sound than an ipod, cheaper, more robust , plays longer on a battery charge but controls a little bit fiddlier. Has an FM radio and speech recorder built in. Will store about 2500 songs.

Hi Dave
Thanks for the response - I cannot measure it at the moment because it is with transmission specialists getting a rebuild - another $2600 gone.
I am sure it is two units, one above the other but I may be incorrect because they fit together perfectly and are obviously meant for each other. The top 3/4 contains sterio and tape deck. The bottom 1/4 is CD player. Together they are about 120mm.
The top unit drives the tape deck. Integrated.
I sent an email to eurovox last night but haven't reveived a reply yet - Will let you know if and when I do.
I agree it is a nice unit with good sound.
Cheers
