hi there,
i had a mu and was running one of them on it and a mate of
mine had it on his 6.4 chevy, with the mu it would make the clutch slip in 5th gear on the highway until i turned it right down, gave about 10% more power and i was getting an extra 100ks out of a
tank of diesel, had it when i had my boat for more power , my mate with the chevy said it worked better on my smaller 4by than his big silverado. but it did cost me a lot to get it out from america.

DieselGas Australia have a system where gas is injected into air intake and suitable for all diesel engines. They claim:
20% more horsepower
20% more torque
Torque comes in 600 rpm lower
20% less diesel use
I have had it on my 4.2 Turbo/Intercooled Patrol for 4 months and would not disagree with their claims +
Quitens motor & turbo under load
Less soot & carbon
I am very happy with it.

The EcoShot system uses BBQ Gas bottles instead of a decent
tank fitted to the vehicle. It also seems to have no real control system except how hard the 'tap' is turned on. That is ok for casual use.
The more expensive computer controled system dieselgasaustralia.com.au or dieselgas.com.au but probably costs a lot more that the system mentioned above.
I have the dieselgas system to tow with, and does it make a difference to POWER when towing ! ! ! . Reduces gear changes by 2/3rds and improves economy by about 2 litres/100 .
Don't bother fitting it for economy though, you would need to do a lot of Kms to pay for it, but for POWER , , , 20km faster up every
hill and one gear higher towing 3.5 tonns and a slide-on camper on the tray.

Dunedigger, you obviously haven't looked at the website. The system uses vapour at low pressure so BBQ gas bottles CAN be used if the application requires it or the operator prefers it. If you had bothered to open the
tank installation link, the FIRST pic is of a ute with a tub mounted conventional
tank. There is also 2 more pics of chassis/under-vehicle mount tanks. This system has been used on 4WD's, bulldozers, combines, and interstate prime movers/ local rigids so it's extremely versatile. I am not knocking the other systems out there just trying to push a point that people have options when making a choice on these systems. The "tap" that you are referring to is a new variable controller enabling adjustment while on the move to suit different situations. The initial light test vehicle, a 99 GU patrol 2.8td made on average an extra 210kms per
tank (850-1060km) of 50%city/50%highway use so the MAIN reason for fitting one of these units is fuel economy. This amounts to getting a further 24% out of your fuel. The added power/torque and smoke reduction to name a few are extra benefits.
