4JX1 Jackaroo Upgrade Chip

Hello All,

Im in the process of getting a semi-offroad van and want to give the Jackaroo a bit of a hand. Its a 3.1 TD and thought a 3 inch exhaust system, Upgrade Chip and free flow Air Filter would go down nicely.

Anyone had any experiences.

Much Appreciated.

First up Iam not sure what model Jack you have! you say its a 4jxi but say its a 3.1 TD, which is a 4jg2. So can you first set me straight please.

I got mixed up as I have a 3.1 TD MU as well...............yes it is a 3.0TD Motor.

OK 4wd Systems in South Aust do an mandrel bent exhaust system for the 3.0 TD Jack. Where are you though?

Im in Perth.............but if they do a Pre made setup I may be interested.........Looking at a 3 inch system behind the turbo.........would be interested to know what results they got as well.

Have 3 inch on both the MU and Wizard and has made a nice difference, fuel economy on the MU UP from 9.5kpl to 11.2kpl and hp up a least 10 to 15%. Have not had the camper on the back as yet to see what diff it has made there.

Yes Im always there Bruce..........no one has answered me about the 4JX1 Upgrade chip in the club Isuzu site yet............so decided to ask here!!!

I love my MU...........I put a 2.5 inch on the MU and got similar results.......

I dont think there is any one esle with a 4jxi in the club in Aus, all the 4jxi's that Ive seen in the club are in the later model Wizards in NZ and there do not have intercoolers. But just remembered a guy in England put a chip in his Trooper 3.0 TD and I think end result was around 145 kws, just cannot remember if it was on here our club site, but a long time ago. Its about all you can do to the Jack, exhaust and chip! anyway hope some one has done this to there Jack and comes forward.
