Hi all

Anone had any first hand experience with diesel/LPG mix conversions and the pro and cons.

This site www.thecardoctor.com.au/5.html

will explain the sell part of the process but does any one know if it actually works and more importantly are there any consequences to the engine.

Will be interested to hear your comment.

Thanks for that John.

I suppose now they have had the discussion it's now time to see if any real results are forthcoming.

Hello John L G.

Have the diesel/gas system on my 4.2TD for about 4 months. More than happy with it. Makes for a quieter, more powerful & torquier motor. I believe all the claims in the blurb on the site you gave are correct, other than, there are fuel savings but I have no quantifiable knowledge as yet. The claim for lower EGT I'm not sure about, seems the same on or off gas.
Power on mine goes from 84kw at rear wheels to 103kw with gas (that is 21% increase).
Happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Sorry I can not help you with the first hand experience but I was interested in the conversion after reading an article in a 4X4 mag. Here is the web address of the company mention in the article www.dieselgas.com.au/vehicles.htm
They quoted $3600+gst for a Hilux. Hope this helps.

Yes that agrees with my info.

My son just rang them and got a similar quote but would be nice to hear from a user.
Rumour has it that the engines run really sweet on this mix with a lot of harshness from normal detonation elliminated...

Still somebody mught pop up here.

Bob and John, it is important to get actual performance improvement figures rather than just testiments that are really just crap. PK's performance figures or acceleration and demonstrated fuel economy are all necessary before you go down a particular track.

John,

I have driven PK's patrol and it performs very well. I was accelerating up a steep hill that normally you'd expect to change back a gear. Instead I was changing up! The only thing I didn't like about the whole thing was the cost.

Bill, Why don't you learn? Has it not occurred to you that your hijacking of threads for your own self promotion is not wanted.

John LG asked for first hand experience with gas injected diesel systems, you have nothing to offer but insert yourself into the thread merely to promote you own business interests then condescendingly tell all to keep their eyes and ears open and they will learn something in time.

Bill, Please, why don't you learn? Learn some common manners, learn some Forum etiquette, extend some courtesy to those that use the forum by not hijacking their posts. Learn for God's sake that for the majority of forum users you Bill, fall into one of two categories, that of a harmless idiosyncratic ratbag who's always good for a laugh with his outlandish claims or an irritating prat.

Latest western 4wder has a follow up from the guy who fitted a fuelstar which fitch ripped off (or was it the other way round) they gave him the same blurb as fitch that it takes time to work etc etc. he wasnt noticing any variation in economy other than normal variations........................... until he pulled his roof rack off.
Its funny how the tried and true methods of saving fuel always work year after year decade after decade while snake oil comes and goes

My vote - irritating prat. Keep the votes coming. I could add a couple of other words in there as well.

p.s. By the way Ian, well done on the restraint with the names for categories!

Guys, guys. I think Bill has his answer it isn't anywhere near where the rest of the world is to. I won't elaborate where he is behind the eight ball as it would take too many words to warrant.

Least to say he is a salesman, trying to differentiate his product. We all know that salesmen try to stretch the truth on their product. I do give him one credit - he has actually disclosed his interest, coming from behind his cloak this time. This time he hasn't come in to give himself and his product a pat on the back with an obscure name or just BillS..........

Well I'll be blowed......

Been away from the computer since last night and it would seem we have that pesky "BILL" back to whom I say - If you can't comment on the post content without shoving your Futch down our throat, stay away! Your comment is neither warranted or welcome.

To all others who have responded including PK Eildon and John R many thanks for the comment and all taken on board.

Kind Regards
