Just grab a multimeter and test it out mate, it is my understanding that they use different colours for different cars even on the same make, not sure on that one tho..
Just grab your multimeter out and turn on your acces, find a good ground and test all the points of the connector, when you find 12v try switching your acces off and back on and see if the voltage goes or stays.
Just make sure you dont grab an illumination wire from the head unit (stereo)
I would advise running a sepparate feed from your battery though, if you want it so it goes off with your accessories just hook up a relay and out the acces feed on the coil and ground the other side. Then hook up your batt feed to the relay and you will be laughing..

Cipher,
Yes different vehicles always seem to use different coloured wire, but I guess theres always a fair chance that black is earth :-))
The wire into the back of the cig socket is the easiest source of acc power.
Although theres nothing wrong with a direct feed from the battery, as long as its fused, I think its unnecessary for a UHF, given they only transmit at 5 watts. I usually avoid coming directly off the battery for the minor stuff to avoid the "spaghetti" around the pos terminals. I like having a fuse box under the dash and a fuse box in my canopy for all the little extras.

Matt,
Whilst it's not exactly behind the glove box.
My 78 Series Troopy has a box mounted inside the LHS front guard, in the engine bay. It contains connections and fuses for accessory power, one each straight off the battery, accessories and engine running.
Maybe look for this in your 100 Series? Saves scratching around under the dash!
Geoff.

Matt,
Simplest is to solder into the centre wire of the cig socket. A UHF uses less than one amp when transmitting, so there are no issues with the cable as the cig socket is supposed to be OK for 10amps.

Matt take a look on the kick pad area in the foot
well on the right hand side of the drivers side. There is a fuse box there and in that different feeds
Personally i have installed a separate relay and fuse box for all my extra electrical its. This I have wired to a switched wire I found in the engine bay that comes from the main fuse box.
Always make sure you correctly fuse each item you install. This way if you have a problem later you will know what the offending item is.
