Hi there, I was wondering if any one can help me. I have a GU patrol and yes i fitted a after market turbo timer on it and the sub tank light continues to stay on. I have read through 2 interesting discussion from Wazza and Fubar(sunday 16th Feb 2003 & FUBAR (Vince.J) saturday 20th May) who have exactly the same problem.

I have disconnected the battery and it goes away but that it not the solution as the next time the timer is engaged the same fault occurs.

I was wondering if Fubar was out there as i have a question to ask you on what did the auto electrican do with the Relays do you know? I have tried to put diodes in the system on both lines of the turbo timer and that didnt work.

I went and asked one of the auto elec's in cairns and they had no idea. Any more information any one could provide me would be very appriciated. My email address is kayneherriman@aapt.net.au.

Thanks for you time

Kayne,

Have you added another earth strap from the chassis to the body and the motor? This is what others have said they have done to overcome the problem. Preferrably, add another heavy cable from the mounting bracket that the fuel transfer pump is bolted to, onto the chassis and another from the chassis to the engine etc. I added one from the top of the chassis rail (there is a captive nut in the chassis just near the turbo on my 4.2TD) to the back of the alternator. Make sure you scrape the paint off the chassis. Same thing underneath.......there are several captive nuts on the chassis near the fuel transfer pump that you can bolt a lug to.

Cheers
