Hi all,
What is the best bet for cleaning the engine compartment on a 'Cruiser?
Got a bit of sand, and undoubtedly salt, from some beach work and just wanted to make sure I get as much out as I can.
Cheers,
Scotty

Water blaster if you have one and spray degreaser.
I dont own a
water blaster but put hose nozzle on jet instead.
Works for me on my cruser ute.
First did beach work two years ago, no signs on corrosion in engine bay yet.

I avoid cleaning the engine bay. Reckon the less degreaser and
water in there, the better - don't want to wash the dielectric grease out of my factory connectors and wiring.
But if you need to, just hose it with plain
water, then go for a drive to dry it out. I don't use detergents and cleaners.

Assuming this is a diesel . Use your garden hose (if no
water restrictions) to hose the sand out , then grab your can of RP7 /CRC and spray the chit of the engine bay (dont hose the RP7/CRC off) . Voilla , finished .

I spray the engine bay with a good dose of CT-18 truck wash and then hit it with the high Pressure cleaner, I have done this for many years with 3 different 4b's without any problems at all.
I make an little effort to keep the spray away from electrical connections.

there was a music clip on tv a while back showing jessica simpson cleaning a car - seems the best way to clean an engine is to find a girlie like that then sit back with a beer or 2 and watch. rgds
