Hi Errol and I had my right hand tower tear out of the Chassis. It is most certainly a problem and of course Nissan have never heard of it. Mine was repaired at a one man engineering works outside of Batchelor (N.T.) by making up a cross brace from 65x32x4 mil box section welded to two plates that bolt in to existing holes in the tower tops. I had seen a similar fix at TJM in Rockhampton although I think it was just the box section welded to the tower tops. The section fitted to mine was bent so that the plates matched the slope of the towers. It seems to always be the right hand tower as the left hand one has an unintentional (for this purpose) gusset. I was first told of the problem by a farmer and then by a tour operator but I dissmissed the idea after being told (by our Nissan dealer) that it would only happened to vehicles that were overloaded. Mine is only used as a domestic vehicle and has never been overloaded but still broke. The leaf sprung versions are also prone to breaking their chassis in front of the front spring hanger,If you want to drop a line, my email is beachbumswil@bigpond.com Bye and travel safely
