We fly back to Darwin sunday to continue our trip to the Coburg and then to the Gulf. Could any one advise a good butcher in or around Darwin who will cryovac our meat.

Had a great trip across the Simpson with my son, his wife and 22 mont old son. Three generations traveling together was very nice for us oldies.

The road to Coburg should be graded; went though about two weeks ago and two graders were working from either end. Now back to you actual question; the Fanny Bay butcher is the place to go, he will cryovac your meat. You might want to look at the NY cut steak, my personal choice.

Iwould be interested tohear your opinion of Colbourg after your trip as I was very dissapointed as to the places the rangers let you go on your own . In my opinion far too regulated for a outback location where permits are required with limited access to the real bush. While I was there nearly everyone left before there permit time expired.I broke the rules a few times which were the only times I really got to see what I wanted and I could reccomend Eastern Arnhem any day before Colbourg.

Fanny Bay butcher - superb meat, cryovac and can't help enough.

Take your fridge basket in and he will pack and stack to save space.

The butcher at Parap shops is good as well. Funily enough we got our meat supplies for Coburg from there as well.

Any butcher with a cryovac machine will vac pack the meat. They may charge for the bags @50c each or add a little onto the kg rate.
Generally only the larger shops with 4-5 butchers have a machine.
