Has anyone used a Maggiolina roof top tent vs more traditional roof top tent like a Howlingmoon.
Since I live in the NT,
camping in the rain is not a issue during the dry. I have a Prado 120 and like
to travel light so only need accommodation for myself and my wife.

My Dad had one on his Prado too! He loved it, but finally sold it due to the fact that Mum could no longer get up and down the ladder at night to pee!!
Dunno how old your are, but take that into consideration.
I loved how quick it was to pack up!! But the few times I slept in it, I found it claustrophobic, due to the low ceiling height. I think the howlingmoons, shipshapes and the like, have a bit more head height!
Hope this helps,
Jo

G'Day,
I and I assume others like me, had dismissed these types of tents after seeing photo's of them in magazines.
We had just spent 3 weeks
camping out in touring tents when we stayed on a station in S/W NSW. The owner had one that was the full size of his GQ Patrol roof.
Inner spring mattress, all bedding ready to go, just click one latch, drop the ladder and you're in bed.
All I could think of was how much time I would have saved packing / unpacking / pegging the tent in the previous three weeks had I had one of these.
If it suits go for it I say,
Hope this helps
Rolande

Traditional ...'like Howling Moon' ...Now you are joking of course ...these are a pathetic units and expensive too...please tell me where u change your gear ,,have a pee at night and are able to change for bed ...and space for table and chairs.?? .....Have a look at Aussie Traveller Roof Top Tents and see whey they are the best on the market and used by the best Rental operators thruoghout Aussie as their roof top tents ...Must admit i am biased ...i owned one for 8 years and it was the best unit I could have wished for in all weathers and was comfortable beyond belief.. and SWMBO.. agrees whole heartedly...we just traded up for a 4wd Motorhome with all the bells and whistles !!
