Can you get to Northpoint by Combeareo point.I heard you have to drive thru a small
creek .Does this sound right and if it is true is it marked where to cross.I want to tow a large jayco up there and didn't like the look of the road from the shops up last time i was there .
Regards Mark

No, the sunken timber makes the point impassable, even at low tide The Isand used to be a lot wider here in days gone by and over time it's slowly being eaten by the ocean.
You can get back ont
the beach at Tailor Bight, but about 3km up
the beach there is a very large and deep salt
water lagoon that empties into the ocean. I have heard that it is possible, but I am not willing to try it that you can to drive behind
the lagoon through a rough track but you would struggle in anything other than a rental. I did also try and come from the eastern side to see how far I could get but there are tidal flats that could easily bog your vehicle about 5km down from yellow patch. If you have to get to
north point towing something go via
bulwer early in the morning before the sun sucks all of the moister out of the sand, there is on 100m section at the juntion of the track that heads back to the eastern beach and the track that heads to
north point that in the middle of the day was a little difficult, it took me three goes to get through. This spot only causes me trouble when the sand is powdery and dry.
Good luck

Agree but reluctantly did it Sept a year ago, followed the tracks of the guys trawling the shallows for bait fish, walked first any
creek crossing thinking "what's the point if i weith 65kg and my wagon is 2t" but you know i guess real soft is real soft. Won't do it again though, too much salt
water around the diff and too many fingers crossed. Have 1 acquaintance and one "mate" that lost their vehicles that way to bogged on incoming tides.

Hi,
IMO the best way to do this especially when towing is to go via
Bulwer.
There is a new campground at
North Point but it is only for tents I believe.
Enjoy your trip.

I think they have closed beach
camping at Yellow Patch just recently. Was taking about Moreton and the
North Point camping while getting my permit to Fraser a couple of weeks ago. Saw
North Point on June long weekend only went into the first bit definately no camper trailers in this area and only small tent sites behind timber bollocks. The lots on the other side appeared larger on the map but didnt look as I prefer to
camp on the eastern beach and was only having a sticky.

Camper + kids ?? depends on how old the kids are ,,
Blue lagoon in my opinion is the bestest spot on the whole island.
