The CD/Tape/Radio combo in my GU patrol has just gone blind....ie those pretty green lights that tell you which station you are turned to no longer shine. Everything still works well but just no led's. Wondering if'n this has happened to anyone else and what you did to fix it. I guess there are other, and probably better, pieces of kit on the market but I've yet to find one that has a better radio. I can listen to the radio in places other vehicles can only hope to get a reception - I guees this is because of the split aerial system.
So.....(1) anyone know how to fix it, or (2) where can I pick up another Nissan GU radio combo. Tried the local wreckers without result.

Cheers
Pete

I just gave mine away after replacing it with an MP3/DVD/WMA player that cost $350 (Sony) and a storage pocket ($15)

Dont bother with the OEM unit.. one thing I will give the sony unit, when you change stations on the radio - its instant, unlike some that take 2-3secs to pick up a station...

Hey Truckie - does the Sony fit neatly into the space vacated by the OME kit?

The OEM unit is Double Din.

The Sony is a single din..

You then can put a UHF in the vacated space, or a "pocket" that allows you to store crap in it.
