I thought about doing this out of a AU/BA Falcon tub, but didn't end up going through with it.
The tub was too heavy, I think converted into a trailer it weighs in about 500kgs (on road spec), then you add on a tent, bed, etc...
They are wide enough for a double bed above the wheel arches, but not long enough for even a single size bed.
Kitchen can go on the draw bar, and there is plenty of room underneath the trailer for water tanks, and jerry can holders (laying flat anyway).
I found a few tubs at country ford dealers for $700, but didn't act quickly enough. Now I can't find one under $1500....
It is possible though. The FPV Tickford club of Victoria have made a trailer out of a tub. Even has a canopy on it. Uteman has done the same.
fordforums.com.au and uteman.com.au have a bit of info on it.
I'm sure someone like 3Dog can make up a soft floor tent.
Cheers,
Ivan
